Play Ball

We do a lot of baseball. Ty likes to hit the ball, a lot.

Here he is taking his stance...

A rough day at the tee!

Ty

I am having a blast being with my sister and her children. I am keeping my nephew busy while my sister is recovering from having #2. Before I change his diaper, put him down for a nap, get him ready for bed, etc. he runs. It takes about four or five laps before he slows down.

This is Ty getting ready for bed. He is running laps before bed.

My sister with her two little guys.

Ty is eating breakfast. He has both of his spoons. At one time, he had both of them in his mouth.

Baby Loves

I have been on baby duty while I send my sister, Misty, to take naps. My new little nephew is so sweet.
Here we are on the couch.

I love all the rolls (on the baby - that is).

I See

My sister, Amber accused me of being such a preschool teacher. We were playing with all of the Mr. Potato Head pieces. I found a hand and held it out and asked for high fives. Both the boys gave me fives. Then I asked for knuckles, and I got knuckles from them both. We continued to play and then we found the glasses.

I put the glasses on the boys and they were thrilled. They loved it.

D - doing the happy dance.

Ty trying on his glasses.

All of us with our glasses.

Introducing - MY BAND

Seen for the very first time:

D.D.A.C. & the Terrible Twos
While the parents were away... this aunt got to play... Rock Band! The boys wanted to play, so since their aunts (my sister, Amber, and I) were in charge, we played.

Ty wanted to play the drums and D wanted to rock out on his guitar...

The boys in my band (could they get any cuter?)

Our drummer - Take it away Ty

D on guitar - check out his rocking moves

Then, because they are only two, we had a change in instruments...

D - decided to play bass

Ty took his turn on guitar (I love the rock-star hair)

Parents BEWARE! This is fair warning, if you leave your two year olds in the care of their aunts, they may join a band. At least we aren't taking them on the road, yet!

We had a ton of fun while Misty went to a baby shower (for a friend), and Phil went to chaperone a stake dance.

I Arrived

Today, after spending a wonderful day with Brett at a "Live Dynamite" seminar, we went to lunch and then looked at diamond earrings. After that, he took me to the airport where I boarded a plane and took off west. I flew to Seattle to see my sister. She has recently had a baby, and I am fortunate enough to be able to come and help her out.

I arrived at the airport and my dad picked me up. We went to the car, and I drove to my sister's house. I got to go in and see these two (picture taken from my sister, I will pull the camera out and take some pictures while I am here, tough).

I am very excited to be spending a week with them and having fun giving them loves.

Unintentionally Funny - Laughing out Loud

Yesterday I heard some things said that just made me laugh out loud. The first one was while I was at preschool. The letter of the week is "F" and the teacher was saying the sound and then asking the children if they knew, "any 'F' words." I was at the other side of the room and started laughing out loud. Fortunately for the other teacher, the students are still innocent enough that it was not a bad situation.

Then last night before prayers we went around and said nice things about the person to our left. Brett said things about Eli, then Eli said things about Emily (nice, fun, cute). We told him they were generic and he had to come up with something specific - he did. We continued until we got to Claire. She had to say something nice about Brett. She said he was handsome and smart. Emily blurted out, "Genetic." Claire continued to say nice things about Brett, and I again laughed out loud. I pointed out what was said to Brett, and he laughed out loud. We had to explain to the children the difference between "generic" and "genetic" (besides the one letter difference), and they laughed out loud, too.

Brett then said, "That's something to go on your blog." So, here it is.

Sweet Sabbath

Today Eli and I decided to make cinnamon rolls. We had to fill up the wheat container, the flour container, the brown sugar container, and while we were at it, we filled the white sugar container and the oatmeal container.

Here are our rolls right after we put them on the pan.

We let them rise.

The finished product - before the frosting.

What could be better than spending Sunday at home being edified by the prophet, snacking on sweet rolls, serving others by sharing our sweet rolls, and seeing a brand new baby?

It definitely has been a sweet sabbath.

King-sized Closeness

Yesterday we started our eight hour quest to hear the words of our inspired leaders. Our television downstairs is not working (the bulb is out), so I brought our little television and our cable box up to my bedroom, plugged them in, and we were off.
Here is our 9" television on which we watched conference.

Here is the set-up.

The talks were truly inspiring, and I know that I need to go back and study several of the talks. I am also developing a list of things that I need to focus on for the next six months (many of which I had already started).

We normally make a run to A&W between sessions, and during the first session I received a call that asked if we would push our run back to after the second session. We did and met our friends there for a fun-filled time.

After dinner we stopped to rent a movie, and then we went home, got pajamas on, climbed in my bed (yet again), and watched a movie together.

When the movie was over, I decided I would let the children watch a little television in my bed. We also turned it off while we read scriptures and said family prayers. Then I let them all sleep in my bed.
Claire and Emily.

Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well. No worries though, I can take a nap between sessions, so I will be happy.

Our Politician

Eli decided that he wanted to enter school government. As a fourth grader he can run for treasurer/secretary. We are not sure if that is two positions or one position. We made up posters for him to hang up, and "nickels" for him to pass out. His message is:

Vote for CHANGE!
Eli Asay for Treasurer.

After we were done with the posters we thought of another tag line (which is better). It is...

"Vote for Eli Asay for Treasurer... it makes CENT$."

Elections are this week, so we are on pins and needles here.
