Summer Vacation - The 3rd Adventure - Day One

Out of this...came all of these...
We arrived in Green River, Utah on Thursday morning and set up camp. Once all of the tents were set up and everyone had full bellies, we decided to head out toward the river to "play."

The current was a little stronger than the children expected, so the boys had to swim out and rescue the boat (and their cousin/sister).

Eli and a cousin decided they would give it a try, but the carried the boat up the river a little farther, so they could end at the dock.

Claire wanted to give the boat a try, however, she was only allowed to stay right by the dock.

The grown-up were all tuckered out from getting up early to make the drive and from setting up camp.

They were a little dirty, too.

One of my nephew's decided that his father needed to be cooled off.

Funny side note: My brother and sister-in-law have six children. In order for them to get moving Thursday morning, my bro-in-law told the gang that he would get them all water guns if everyone was totally packed and in the car by a certain time. He kept reminding them as the time got closer. It worked. At the designated time, their vehicle rolled out of their driveway. My sis-in-law asked her husband where he planned to stop to get water guns, and he proudly announced that he already bought them. He pulled out his label maker and they put labels on all of the guns.

Many of the cousins decided that they would run down the dock and jump into the water.

It wasn't too long before we went back to get some dinner. We had build your own salads. It was a perfect meal for the hot day.

After dinner we went back down to the river and were surprised to find this:

It didn't stop our fun, we continued to play. On of the uncles decided he would ride his bike down the ramp and into the water.

The girls had fun playing in the sludge on the side of the river.

Brett gave many of these while he was there.

For dessert, we had ice cream, and I think she enjoyed it the most.

When it got dark, we played some group games. One of them was rock, paper, scissors. It was funny to watch how confused everyone was getting.
